Patients First Products is a product development company with a focus on increasing safety and efficiency in healthcare operations while creating better patient experiences.
Our Story
Our goal as an organization is identifying key points of risk in infant transport and finding sensible ways to solve those problems. We introduced our flagship product, the infant discharge cart, in 2018. It quickly proved to be popular for L&D and NICU nursing teams. Additional infant transportation and car seat testing products soon followed.
The next step was tackling more challenging scenarios such as EMS transport. Our crash-tested Safe-Dock EMS solution is the start to our line of emergency services products. Today, we are listening and watching for more ways to protect children and families with sensible products designed for safety.

Our Parent Organization: Safe-Strap
PFP is part of the Safe-Strap family, which brings 40+ years of safety innovation to the table. Founder Paul Giampavolo invented the first shopping cart seat belt in the 1980s after witnessing a child being injured by a fall from a cart at a grocery store. A tireless advocate for child safety, Paul also helped develop the ASTM safety standard that makes shopping cart restraints the standard in every retail store in the U.S.
Today, the Safe-Strap family of companies offers a wide range of safety restraint and transportation devices for retail, entertainment, and healthcare settings.

Paul Giampavolo
Founder and CEO
Recognizing the lack of standardized equipment for safely moving infants between hospital units and ambulances, Paul founded Patients First Products to develop purpose-built devices that improve safety, efficiency, and dignity of care for the most vulnerable patients. His work continues to focus on creating clinician-informed products that support healthcare teams while protecting infants during critical moments of care.

Vice President
Collin Stewart serves as Vice President of Patients First Products, where he leads strategic growth and client partnerships under the guiding principle, “Safety from the Start.” He works closely with hospital L&D and NICU teams as well as EMS agencies to implement solutions that increase safety and efficiency during neonatal discharge and emergency transport. With a background in biomedical engineering and direct experience collaborating with frontline healthcare professionals, Collin helps bridge the gap between product innovation and real-world clinical application, ensuring every solution fits seamlessly into daily operations.
